Today, well, more like this evening, Emily lost her first tooth! Let me start by saying that when we discovered the wiggly tooth I was not thrilled. In fact my tummy sort of did a weird cramp, flop thing. I don't do blood so thoughts of my childhood came to mind and all I can remember is blood and the anxiety of it all. But, God's grace is sufficient and yes, I do praise Him for what seems to be small and to some, not that big of a deal. If you are a parent, I trust you got (or will get) as excited as I did when you saw the time had come for your baby to lose her/his first tooth.
We were dining with our friends, the Nelson's, and I heard the familiar groan from Emily that told me she had forgotten about her tooth and bit into food with it. This happens a lot. But this time I saw the thing pushed out toward me and I knew it was time to come out. Surprisingly, I didn't freak out-probably because I was at someone else's home. I took a napkin on the advice of Chuck (father of 4 teenage girls) and gave it a gentle tug. It was so easy and painless. And very little blood. Everyone around the table gave a hearty cheer and kept telling Emily how great it was. She was thrilled.
So, we had to come home and document this momentous occasion with pictures, magnets and cute ceramic boxes. All are below. Hope you enjoy this very joyous parent moment with me. My baby is growing up. :o)
Isn't she cute? :D
This picture is going to bug me because November is crooked. And we didn't move our K4T magnet. :o/
This little box was a baby gift from Emily's baby shower. It was fun to bring out.
